Keeping things running while we build has been our top priority. It's not easy when half of our current facilities are being taken apart. So, it's all about planning. Before we could take down the old, run-down portacabin that holds our current toilet block, we had to build a new one. And before that new toilet block could be up and running, we needed a whole new septic system installed.
Once the building is finished, we'll have 6 toilets: 1 accessible, 1 Changing Places (the only 24-hour public access facility in Lewis), and 4 standard ones. Compared to our current 2 standard toilets, this is a big upgrade for us. Lunchtimes at the farm are currently a nightmare with people queuing up.
Stage 1 of the toilet installation was completed by Roddy and the team last month... and true to our style, we went with pink! Aren't they pretty?
